The recently found archives on the Chinese Council in Indonesia  were brought to the Leiden University in the Netherlands for research and preservation. These documents, which recorded the marriages, deaths, births, arbitrations and jurisdictions in local disputes of the Chinese community in Batavia, provide new insight and information on the daily life of the Nanyang Chinese in Indonesia over the centuries
