Set up in
1995 the Centre aims to promote research, public education and information
exchange on the Chinese overseas. Its library houses the Wang Gungwu Collection
of over 10, 000 titles on Chinese history and Chinese overseas. The Centre also
showcases exhibitions on the myriad aspects of the Chinese overseas experience.
Department of Chinese Studies, National University of Singapore
The
Department conducts both teaching and research on the Chinese overseas
with emphasis on the Chinese in Singapore, Malaysia and Indonesia. The
University has one of the best collections of research materials on Southeast
Asia housed in the University Library.
The Asian Research Institute (ARI) was established as a university-level institute in July 2001 as one of the strategic initiatives of the National University of Singapore (NUS).
National Archives of Singapore
The
National Archives of Singapore acts as the official custodian of the nation’s
collective memory, responsible for the 
preservation
of records that are of historical and national significance. Apart from
official records it also acquires relevant materials from individuals
and organisations, local and overseas.

Resource & Research Centre
Specializing
in Chinese Overseas books and archival materials, particularly of Malaysian
Chinese, the Huazi Resource & Research Centre Library has a range
of materials spread across Malaysian politics, economics, literary works
and education. The library also houses a wide selection of books, magazines,
periodicals and newspaper cuttings on the relevant subject. The website
is in
Chinese, to be viewed with Simpified Chinese (GB2312) character set using
the latest versions of Netscape Communicator or Internet Explorer.
